ubuntu 9.04 32 bit desktop hangs at partioner on poweredge w/ perc 4e/dc

I have tried to update all the firmware on the raid card for our 6850. Windows can read the drive just fine. However the latest version of Gparted live cannot, and Ubuntu can't either. I thought Ubuntu was supposed to have the Dell Raid drivers included. Can anyone give me any hints what to look at? I have been searching the internet for several days now and have not found much.

Solved: I just wasn't waiting long enough for the partitioner to work. I left it on and came back after 30 min and it was good to go.
