Hi--

After installing ubuntu, it would seem that my printer become slightly less competent, printing images and characters that seem appear slightly darker and clumsier than what I remember from Windows. I haven't messed around with print drivers or print software or anything; I'm just using what came with Ubuntu.

Is this even possible, or am I imagining it? If I'm not imagining it, is there anything I can do about it?

thanks.

Open up the cups web interface and set your printer options there. To open the interface open firefox and type:

http://localhost:631

It would help if you could tell us what printer it is. And yes, it is possible if only the gutenberg drivers are installed.

I would suggest you go to here (http:///hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/index.html) and download and install, there are good installation instructions, the latest driver, to see if that makes a difference
