IS it possible to install Ubuntu on a PC without having windows installed? I deleted Windows XP on an old PC and would like to install Ubuntu as the sole Operating System.

Yes, just boot off the CD.

Sure it is.
Ubuntu has nothing to do with Windows, they are completely different operating systems.

Of course you can, Ubuntu is a Live CD, just put the CD in your computer and boot from it. (This may be the difficult part, depends on your BIOS)

All of the above.

As a matter of fact, this is the preferred method for many Ubuntu users.

Thank you to all for your replies. I have to check the old PC to ensure it can boot from the CDROM drive.
