Installing Ubuntu on a mac book pro, osx 10.5.8

Hi , i want to install ubuntu on my mac book pro, i have osx 10.5.8


So, wich version should i download ? desktop or netbook remix ?


I will use ubuntu mainly for graphics :

Blender, gimp , inkscpae and so on


I will do it with boot camp , but i have never done it, is there any step by step guide ?
