Hi
I need to run ubuntu from disk to do some maintenence on my laptop. the problem is, my cd drive has packed in.
I have found instructions on how to load ubuntu on to a usb pendrive and then run from that, but I need an IMG file of ubuntu rather than an ISO file
Can anyone point me to a link for an IMG file?

many thanks

If you are running one of the more recent Ubuntu versions, try System > Administration > USB Startup Disk Creator.

You can use your iso image to create a bootable copy of the Live CD on the flash drive.
