View Full Version : [ubuntu] wireless will not recognize, even on WCID

i have had an ubuntu variant on my new laptop for several months and never have been able to get wireless to work completely for more than a day.
i downloaded wicd after the wireless completely cut out on network manager

my computer is a compaq presario cq60-215dx
it has an atheros wireless card
also i have a netgear rangemax router if it helps

the wireless on the computer worked before i updated everything after first instalation

i apologise for asking what im sure is an over asked question
but please can someone give me instruction on how to make wireless work for good.
i love ubuntu but this wireless problem has drivin me insane please help!

Maybe you :

Switched Wireless Off.. Right click the icon for the internet, and make sure there is a check next to Enable Wireless.

Left click and hit Edit Connections > Wireless Tab > +Add.. Enter the information
