I've been trying for two days to install Ubuntu in a new hard drive that I just purchased. It stops installing at 30% with a error message stating that something is wrong with the DVD/CD drive or hard drive problem that won't allow it to continue. I tried partitioning the drive through Win xp on another computer but it still gives the same message. I even purchased a new DVD read/writer drive and it does the same.

Can anyone please help!

maybe your installer is corrupt? have you tried downloading a new copy?
