i downloaded software updates which further asked to restart to complete installation. Now the problem is when i login my pc gets hanged (i.e. only thing i can do is press Ctrl+Alt +del and log out or press turnoff button which asks whether i want to restart,shutdown,suspend or hibernate) and there is no display of top and bottom pannel and also cursor won't move, only background wallpaper appears. can anyone tell me how to overcome this prob or have i to reinstall ubuntu. i am using ubuntu 8.10 right now?
