i downloaded garphics driver from intel in .tar.gz form
the name is i915graphics.tar.gz. i cannot install it

try to find the .deb file, it installs automatically.

Launch synaptic.
Click search.
Type in: intel video

Look for xserver-xorg-video-intel I think that supports your chip set.

Also you might just try this.
System -> Administration -> Hardware drivers

See if there is a check box available for the intel video driver you need.

I had a quick look and it seems that there is no self installer. Have a read through this:

Please refrain fom creating multiple threads for the same topic. You have to be patient as we on here are not paid support. You may have to wait for a while until someone who is knowledgeable about your problem logs into the forum and sees your post.

It is suggested you use very descriptive title for your thread. This will help those scanning the forum to be clued in to what your problem may be. There is no mention of video driver installation in your title.
