I just installed Ubuntu 9.04 on my home desktop after having been a windows user all my life.
Everything seems to work except i have no sound at all - no start up sounds, no sound during sound tests, no sound from music.
I was wondering if anyone knew what could be wrong? I know my way around a computer but am not very tech savvy when it comes to stuff like this.
I have already checked all possibilities that it is my speakers fault so it must be something to do with the software. I have also made sure that my used is permitted to use audio devices.
