I need to install dos onto usb key as well as files x,y,and z so that I can boot into dos and run the files. I have tried image-writer unetbootin and some command line methods but i cannot seem to get any to work.
Any help would be appreciated

FreeDOS is supported by unetbootin, and can accomplish this task with FreeDOS but not Microsoft DOS.
distributing/installing/using Microsoft DOS without permission from Microsoft and agreeing to the EULA, of course, is illegal.
unetbootin is in the repos :D

drag and drop them over.
once booted into freedos the same way you normally boot from a usb drive, you can use dos in all the same ways you normally would.
