gfx crash is it ok to just reset the pc

I was using open office spread sheet, avast on root mode and firefox. Out of the blue the screen just went sideways and all I can see are lines. I wasn't aware yet of the following commands then:
alt+sysrq+k
ctrl+alt+backspace

Is it ok to just turn off your pc and do a Hard reboot?

It is insane and may lead to crash do not try this again.

Yes it is just ctrlaltbcksp may save few minutes time and reboot just GUI part.

Not stupid you help our little windos friends and maybe remove some their viruses from shared files. Just do not use AV with root it will only create more problems.
