I installed Mario Forever (I think I downloaded it from download.com) under wine. It runs under root, only problem is that when it runs initially, the desktop resolutions changes to 640x480 (so you can only see the upper left portion of the game) and none of the controls work, except pressing ENTER to start the game. I also tried changing the controls, but that still didn't do anything. Any suggestions?

Same problem.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Can anyone suggest - does the link below suggest it is a known issue? Rating = garbage!

i thought Mario Forever was a hacked Mario ROM for the NES.

Install Secret Maryo Chronicles from getdeb: http://www.getdeb.net/app/Secret+Maryo+Chronicles

Similar and linux native.

Mario Forever isn't a hacked ROM, it's a fan remake of Super Mario 3 (so it might as well be hacked). At one point (it might still, I don't know) it had a toolbar which must be installed to run the game (I hate it when there is an optional toolbar or whatever prechecked for installation let alone one that can't be removed).

+1 for Secret Maryo Chronicles, great game.
