Hy,

I've been trying to install only "Install a command-line system" through USB using Alternate CD and I am running into some problems:

1. I can successfully boot into my USB and start the install process upto CDRom detection step where there's an error indicating that it couldn't detect a CDRom drive which I busted (hence installing through USB). Now I followed a guide (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/FromUSBStick) for over coming this but it didn't work either. It gives an error that the it cannot read the data from the CD.

2. The boot menu (keeping in mind that I am installing from a USB) doesn't display any option to install a "Install a command-line system". How can I do this? I have an Alternate CD, does it require another image?

Any help is appreciated! Thnx.

The command line system option is under F4.

No it isn't in my boot menu. Do you think this is because I am installing from a USB? Can I install the command line system through some command line method?
