My present unit after losing my 64 bit is a 32 bit 40 GB HD (1GB-RAM)
which I must learn to live with.
Recently repartitioned and randomly choose 3 partitions as well as
randomly trying to divide it into thirds.
ntfs 14.48
ext3 1063 Lenny
ext3 10.13 Ubuntu 9.04
The downloads and burns no hitch and the installation was a breeze as well
The enigma occuring is on the update on Ubuntu. It is 137.0 MB and its
giving me an error at install saying upgrage needs total 392 please
free 178.
I went to add remove and removed everything it allowed me to, but not enough.
Initially ubuntu is using 316.58 of the 10.13 partition (what am I not
understanding here)
Could I have downloaded and created a more minimal OS or is there a
process within what I have now.
I would like a solution that includes both my present Linux OS
I do have a 160 GB external I am using for storage that I am staying
away from for operating system because of slower reaction.
I had even contimplated ubuntu on a Wubi install.
10.04 unused on ntfs
Like to avoid re-installing, but will do what I must
Ok guys or gals help the old man out

For Ubuntu 10GB should be enough. You can try to remove some things with this commands

sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get autoclean
