View Full Version : [other] Starling - Projector Compatibility

I have asked (and you have answered) several questions about using the Starling with a video projector.

The projector has finally been installed. My last question has to do with the resolution.

The projector in place is an Infocus Model 1N2102. If I'm reading the tech sheets correctly (and there is a good chance I'm not), the projector is limited to 800 X 600.

Would I be able to set the Starling to that resolution? I tried to change the resolution on one of my home 9.04 systems, and couldn't find a way to do it.

If you want to verify the specs, they're at:

http://www.infocus.com/Products/Projectors/IN2102.aspx

If you could let me know if these two systems are compatible, I'll be ready to make my purchase.

tnx

The Starling does not have an 800x600 mode. It does have 1024x576, 640x480, 720x400, 640x400 and 640x350.

Most likely, if you just plug in the Starling and activate the monitor via Preferences > Display, you will see the Starling's native 1024x576 resolution as 800x600 on the projector.

There's no way I can verify that the two items are compatible, as I have no way to get my hands on one for testing. My best estimate is that they are. And there's a money back guarantee.

in attempting to order my starling, I followed the prompts until I had completed the order, printed a copy, and when I hit continue I received the following error message: Warning: mysql_connect(): Lost connection to MySQL server during query in /home/system76.com/www/system76.com/includes/functions/database.php on line 19
Unable to connect to database server!

does anyone know what that means?

Just some type of server error.

I'm looking at your order now, though. It went through fine. You should be getting an email/order number soon.

I've set up a 2102 and it will work when fed 1024x768 from an XP system, but it converts that to 800x600 for display which is a bit fuzzier than the real thing.

If the projector is new, you might want to exchange for the 2104 which has 1024x768 native.
