I'm new :)

Hello everybody !

For beginning, I'm French and if I'm here it's for been better in English.

I use GNU/Linux since 2 or 3 years, I've beginning with Ubuntu Dapper Drake, but since Gutsy Gibbon I don't like Ubuntu, so I've test a lot of distributions, like Debian, Fedora, Mandriva, ZenWalk, ArchLinux... But actually I'm on Debian Sid with GNOME, but I like KDE to.

In the real life my name is Kévin Gaspard, I'm 18 years old, I live at Torcy, in Seine-et-Marne in France (it's near to Paris) and I'm an apprentice, I'm working at GN-Resound, a company which sells and repairs hearing.

For continue in my virtual life (it's the better part of my life :D) I've a website, www.koshie.net (http://www.koshie.net) (and you have some pic' of me here : www.koshie.net/photos/koshie (http://www.koshie.net/photos/koshie) ^^).

I've make a LUG (GUGL in french, Groupe d'Utilisateurs de GNU/Linux), it's very young but we hopes to organize a install party in September, the forum (very ugly, temporary is http://gugl-77.xooit.fr).

But, if I don't like Ubuntu, why I'm registered here? Why not on a Debian's forum ? Because I love the Ubuntu philosophy :)... Even if I'm trying to don't use nonfree software.

Ahah Tristram, why not why not... But i'm not all weeks at GN-Resound, it's 2 week at my "school" (my teachers don't like when we say school, they prefer "CFAI")and 2 week at my work.

What do you use SuperSonic4 ?

Yeah, it's in my sig but I've used Kubuntu in the past. Never used a Gnome distro. The laptop has arch and iceWM

How is France? Apart from being dark due to it being night xD

It's... Like France the other day.

I'm lucky, I'm not in Paris with the **** on the pavement, the car, nauseous odors and I have a lot of laks, green area and three in my city.

Since 2 or 3 days it's more cold... But to believe about TV, this week are hot ô/.

Hey koshie, welcome to the forums. It's nice to see that another LUG is being started in France ! Do you have anything planned already ?

(Note that although my profile says I live in Lyon, I am originally from Nanterre. I kinda get what you mean about Paris, but come on, you have to admit the Quartier Latin is a wonderful place.)

"Vous" it is for several people or for respect a person. It's not rude ;). When I speak with a teacher or with an unknow people I say "vous", but with a friend or a colleague I say "tu".

Oh I see SuperSonic4, I "love" WWII too, the history, weapons, musics, films, games... We want to make an install party in September.

Mornedhel, yeah yeah... But I love to insult Paris ô/ !
