Hello everyone

I have burnt my donwloaded ISO file of Ubuntu ver 9.0.4 onto an rewritable DVD. However, the OS will not boot from the DVD even though the DVD drive is set for the highest priority on my CMOS setup. I have read guidelines on the Internet but none of them tell troubleshooting for this problem. Please post some advice for me.

Thank you,

Dai

This is going to sound stupid but did you burn the iso as disc at once? or did you burn it to a data cd..? they make a huge difference.

You must burn the file as a disk image. The method you must use to do this will vary depending on the burning software you're using.

Thanks for the replies. It appears that clicking the burn option on the toolbar did not burn the image onto the DVD. After opening the ISO image with burner software, the OS booted successfully from the DVD.

Cheers,
