View Full Version : [ubuntu] Connected w/ no internet (and other issues)

My wireless used to work fine. Now all of a sudden it will connect to the wireless network (or wired, for that matter), but I have no internet access.

(I had recently run out of disk space and had to resize the partition...I thought this was the issue, as other programs did not have enough memory to run properly, but it turns out not. Just thought I'd mention it in case it was relevant...)

It's not hardware - I can connect fine in Windows. And I can connect fine using a LiveCD. I've attempted to reinstall network manager, but couldn't add it from the cd, and of course can't connect to the internet to do it...](*,)

Also, I've been consistently unsuccessful in attempting to get a connection in KDE. I don't _think_ it's related, but honestly I don't know.

(I'm running 9.04.)

I'd be eternally grateful to anyone who could point me in the right direction.

No, when I try I get the message: ping:sendmsg:operation not permitted

Interestingly, when I disconnect from the wireless network (or unplug the ethernet cable), I get the message: ping:sendmsg:network unreachable

So it seems to me that it's sensing it but there's a problem with allowing traffic through...
