Where can I download google map(not google earth!)

Would anyone please tell me where I can download google map? The damn SiS IGP doesn't have a 3D driver, so google earth doesn't work on my notebook.
But anyway I don't play 3D game and the beautiful 3D google earth is overkilled for my application. It would be great if I can get a 2D google map (not the one within the browser -- maps.google.com) such athat could work on my notebook. Thanks in advance!

Google Maps is a browser application. I don't think it exists in any other form, except maybe for cell phones.
