Some great snaps by US GI's (http://www.library.upenn.edu/collections/sasia/calcutta1947/) of the Eastern Indian city of Calcutta (now called Kolkota), taken during WW-II.

I don't see anything wrong w/ fonts, links look ok too.

Yep, the font is just your basic, default sans-serif. If they look ugly, it's your browser picking the wrong sans-serif fonts. The one exception is the mailto link for David Nelson, which is inexplicably set to Courier.

A huge thanks for posting this. I was born and brought up in Calcutta and although I presently live outside, the city is closest to my heart. Actually it was a pleasant surprise to find such a post in Ubuntu forum.
