View Full Version : [ubuntu] Ubuntu Wake-On Demand Feature

I just found out that this feature is now available in Snow Leopard. I'm wondering if Ubuntu is able to do the same thing:

I'm running 9.04 and have a laptop sharing the same network as my Ubuntu desktop. My question is this: When I'm not using my desktop, I usually have it hibernate. However, when it hibernates, I am unable to print to the printer connected to desktop from my laptop. When the desktop is on and running (or even screen locked), I have no problems. Is there any way to configure the hibernation settings on Ubuntu to allow incoming network print requests (wake on-demand), and either not activate the whole system, or have it revert back to hibernating after processing the print request?

Any help or suggestions is much appreciated.
