I was confused so i did some research on it. Posting my results here for documentation.

ReactOS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReactOS):

An entire OS built mostly from the ground up
Not Linux
Not Windows
Has an NT Kernel compatible with Windows
Aims to be an open source alternative to windows

Linux Unified Kernel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_Unified_Kernel):

Is just a kernel
Is Linux, with WINE-like windows compatibility
Aims to unify Linux and windows
With this kernel loaded you can use windows drivers on the linux desktop

Hmm, I hadn't even heard of LUK before, I'll have to try that out.
