I am using a script to install E17(what it does is it does the svn/compiling so I don't have to constantly monitor that). Unfortunately, when I try to do that it says:

configure: error: unable to find Lua
Which is odd because I do have lua installed. Is there any way to fix this?

Try installing the latest -dev version of lua from synaptic (liblua5.1-0-dev) - that worked for me.

Depending on which version of the easy_e17 script you have, there may also be some other problems downloading and installing a number of packages (enhance emphasis etk_extra exhibit). If these are listed in the script for downloading, you will need to delete them from the script (and delete any directories with those names in /opt/e17_src if you have already tried to run it) before running the script with "-i".

Good Luck! (e17 from svn is a bit hit and miss right now)
