im crossing my fingers and hoping we get "Glitch free" pluse it 9.10. personal i haven't really noticed any problems.... till i was setting up skype...

Er...but glitch-free PulseAudio only seems glitch-free to the end user if their hardware doesn't suck. Hint: most cheap laptop sound devices suck. HDA with Realtek or Sigmatel codec? Suck.

+1 For crappy laptop audio, my HP laptop with Altec Lansing sound system sounds worse than the cheap Japanese transistor radio I had when I was 12 years old. Whether running Windows or Ubuntu it sounds just plain terrible.

In Linux you are much more likely to be able to restart a service if needed. For instance the old alt+backspace used to restart X.

You can't do that in Windows, but if you don't know how to restart the service, you can turn off then on again.

For the average desktop user, it's probably often easier to just reboot, but if you need to keep your system going, your chances are much better with Linux.

The part about "is it plugged in" would be equally valid for all systems. :)
