Hello

I've just decided to start using ubuntu on my asus laptop.
I downloaded the 9,04 desktop version of ubuntu and then I realized that I have no empty cd's.

I googled and found that the program unetbotting could help me so I tried this.

The computer boots from it but then I get to some sort of ubuntu loading screen then I get this error message

[ 2.800067] ata1: softreset failed(device not ready)
[ 3.716062] ata2: softreset failed(device not ready)
modprobe: FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.28-11-generic/modules.deb: no such file or directory

I've tried to google it but with no luck.

Now I turn to you and I really hope someone could help me!

I'm using a 16gb cruzer usb formated with fat32
and an Asus X5DABSeries

Thanks in advance

have you tried re-downloading and starting over?

there is a chance that something went wrong either in the download or in imaging the thumb drive....

ensure that you have bios setup to be able to boot to the usb and also try formatting usb and try creating again...see this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=811397) for more help.
