I just came back to Ubuntu after about 2 months. Windows still didn't cut it. I'm in a theme rut.. I want something either dark, or light, but professional looking. Just something very well put together and modern looking. I cannot find one. Someone please help me.
Thanks. :)

EDIT: Using Gnome.

My personal favorite Shiki Colors (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Shiki-Colors?content=86717)

Also check out the Gnome Colors icon theme for some nice matching icons.

+1, every time I use GNOME I always somehow end up using Shiki-Colors, it's a great theme, gentle on the eyes and very elegant :)

Here are some cool themes that install with a ppa that look great IMHO.

You can also use a dark theme from here and always change the wallpaper.

http://browse.deviantart.com/customization/skins/linuxutil/gnome/gtk2/ is my favorite place. The quality (and ease of searching) is lightyears beyond what gnome-look offers.

My favorites are those by thrynk, Lokheed, and lassekongo83.

I really like the default DarkRoom theme... I guess I must be one of the only ones though^^

KDE's easy to make look proffesional yet dark(but i hate kde4, just figured out kde3 is actually not that bad, lol). Gnome shiki colors is a +1 for sure. Also emerald themes are nice but will slow ur computer varying on theme and your cpu/RAM etc.Im always in the same boat as you. I like dark, but want dark/proffesional..which is tough to get so i try out light some times, yet want darker...but ahhhhh..end up just stuck, lol.
