In Ubuntu there's an option to change the log in menu such that it shows a list of users, and the user just have to click on the user name icon and enter their password to log in like windows xp.

but I can't find such option in xubuntu, I went to the log in window and try to adjust the settings but I can't find anything on showing log in names. any idea how to do it in xubunt? thx.

I don't think you can do it with the default theme, you should try with a custom one theme.

how do I get these themes? can I make one myself using the GUI's?

there's a built in theme with face browser, is this the one that shows all the user names? it didn't seem to work for me when I used this theme. I can't even see the face browser, just plain user name text box.

I think there are a few themes which allow this...

Try changing them.
