since upgrading from Ubuntu 8.04 to 9.04 kooka is not working
It is un-installed, when I try to install it in synaptic I get the message

kooka:

Package kooka has no available version, but exists in the database.
This typically means that the package was mentioned in a dependency and never uploaded, has been obsoleted or is not available with the contents of sources.list

Can anyone help me?

Kooka is a great scanning application.

It's also only supported in version 3.5 of QT.

There are some 'libqt3' entries in 'synaptic'.

Install those and go get a debian universe binary of the application.

You could also build it from source.
