Putting an HDD with Ubuntu on another Desktop PC

I am looking for some insights into possible problems that might appear if I install Ubuntu on a particular desktop PC and then move the whole HDD on a different desktop PC. I remember this operation was practically useless on older Windows versions, but never tried it with Ubuntu.

Any advice?

I've done it and it worked, but it was such a long time ago I can't really remember details! The two machines were a similar spec, but different manufacturers. I tried the same HDD in both machines and kept the one which worked best - the one that didn't have VIA graphics...

I think it was Hardy Heron.
