Hi there,

Currently I am running Jaunty 32-bit with nVidia 8600M GT 256MB graphic driver version 180.44 using Ubuntu default Propietory Driver as at System > Administration > Hardware Drivers method.

As generally known that Ubuntu official repos are snail to release new driver update and after some googling, i had found structured 2 ways to update the driver as below:

1. nVidia latest Drivers - How to install - (180.xx - 185.xx - 190.xx) (http://ohioloco.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=990978)

2, X Updates PPA Repo (https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates/)

In your opinion, which is the safest way to update my working laptop while still can enjoy the latest stable nVidia driver fixes and enhancement?
