I felt a bit bored so I decided to make a quick mockup of a media player I would like to have in linux. I took inspiration from songbird, iTunes, amarok and boxee and created a combination of their best features along with a lot of new stuff.

What do you think? It's my first mockup and I only made it in a few hours so some icons are a bit pixelated.

Definitely a nice mockup, I love the ascetics of the curves.
That said, it looks kinda...iTunesish. Not that it's a bad thing, but it has that confusingly similar look.

Thanks,
The color scheme is more iTunes ish so I tried to keep the main design separate, but iTunes is a very complete program and i did have a screenshot of Itunes and Songbird showing (for ideas) while I made the mockup. The only thing I added here that I would really like to see in a real media player is the Music-Video-Settings Menu bar, rather than the traditionally ugly "File-Edit-View-Help" you see on almost evry app.

The logo needs a bit more eye candy, maybe more color or details in the background.
Your Songbox mockup itself is sleek and uncluttered. I really like it, plus all the controls are easy to understand at a glance. I'm impressed, esp. for a first mockup.
iTunesy, yeah, but as long as it doesn't ACT like iTunes...D:

it's a very ncie mock up. A bit too pastel for my tastes - wouldn't blend with my desktop!
Also - 3 paned browser? Does anyone browse using 'genre'? Rhythmbox, banshee et al are much better for not having a 'genre' pane by default.

Looks pretty, simple. Again, it wouldn't blend in too well with my current color scheme.

You basically just designed Songbird, minus the iTunes grid view.

Nice mockup, but in my opinion the looks of the music player don't really matter much because I don't actually look at it all that much. My terminal music player is good enough for me. :P

The songbox logo looks a lot like the spri logo you submitted for the icebuntu logo request topic.
