Are usb speakers worth the trouble?

I really like the idea of just one cord and not having to worry about turning them off, but they require some configuration to get on linux. I don't mind doing that if they work reliably after setting them up.

So does anyone here use usb speakers? Are they worth the trouble?

they should not require any configuration. USB audio is pretty standard. at most you'll need to select them from the sound control panel.

yay pulseaudio (not all thanks to PA, but PA allows you to hot plug new audio devices, and shift existing streams to them)
