I put windows back on my laptop so I could indulge in The Sims 3 and Spore. Now I'm back on a Linux only laptop. I am happy. Now I can get back to writing without The Sims 3 distraction me. XD

One good thing about now having my favorite games on Linux is that they aren't there to distract me! XD

Nice move guys, now she'll never write the Revised Theory of Relativity, which makes teleporting, travelling faster than the speed of light, and sugar replacements that actually taste like sugar possible! :(

Sorry, I can't resist the temptation: Sims 3 actually runs better for me in Linux than it did in Windows, and that's with the graphics settings higher. (And no, there are not rendering issues). I'm the one with the note on VC runtime stuff in the WineHQ page.

Just remember to turn off composited window management. You could make a handy little launcher on your panel to toggle it.

I know exactly what you're saying. gaming is a disaster. I would have never completed my phd without linux :)
