One thing that's long irritated me about computers is the inconsistency when it comes to how many times you click on things (I've found myself teaching people who have literally never used a computer before, and it's very difficult to explain to them when to double-click and when not too, and at work I see people who use computers everyday double-clicking on things they shouldn't), so I recently decided to set nautilus to open files on single-click.

Groovy.

Now I want to push that through to other parts of the system, such as the dialogue you get when you're selecting a file to open in OpenOffice, or sing-click on a contact to start a conversation with them in Pidgin.

Anyone know if things like this are possible?
