Hello all!

So I'm getting my computer ready to move from Windows XP to Ubuntu 9.04. I have run 8.10 fine on it before, but 9.04 didn't even boot up for me, and I returned it to XP in frustration. So I know an upgrade is in order, but I'm not even sure what parts need upgraded. Here's the specs if anyone knows. Be merciful, this is a very old machine.

CPU: 850MHZ P3
RAM: 382MB
HDD: 40GB
Video Card: Integrated; 4MB VRAM

I don't have any more info on the video card, though I'm pretty sure that's the problem. I can't even watch YouTube for cripe's sakes!

It can be bad burn, bad CD...

Did you checked md5sum (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM) and CD integrity (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/CDIntegrityCheck?action=show&redirect=CDIntegrityCheck) after burning iso?On your comp Xubuntu (http://www.xubuntu.org/get) will run faster.

Yes I did, it came out fine (the disc I was using was a friends who had installed on his laptop with no problems).
