Awesome lyrics! Awesome Song!

"Back off I’ll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong
Headstrong we’re headstrong
Back off I’ll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong and this is not where you belong
I can’t give everything away
I won’t give everything away" http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/trapt/headstrong.html

i'm confused, are we supposed to discuss how much we like that song? is that what this thread is for?

if so, i never much cared for it myself, and yea, it's a few years old.
i'm more into jam bands, reggae, and some classic rock myself.

I shall raise you this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSxQZf5Xj5g

For those unknowing, the song is about James Dewees (the entire band) life.

EDIT - Then again, I'm also biased and the get up kids are my favorite band.

Welcome to 2002. Enjoy your stay.

I should pick myself up an iMac G4 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imac_g4). Those is purdy.

One of these days, I'm going to buy an old G4 and stuff modern hardware in there.

"Had to to turn, lay down,
Your sting of disease.
Phase you out, should've seen this coming.
Go on confusing the soul,
Hold my breath till you rupture."

Beautifully illustrates the fact that most song lyrics really do suck.

Midnight
Midnight it's raining outside he must be soaking wet
Everyone is sleeping tight God knows I tried my best

But

Darling you know it looks bad
Just lost the best thing that I ever had
Still I don't know why I did him wrong
It's too late now he's gone to say

Chorus
Baby oh no, can't leave me now
Said think about it please
'Cos I love you and I need you
And I should have thought of that before I did you wrong

Those lyrics don't really seem to rise much above what you might expect to hear from a heavily intoxicated soccer hooligan spoiling for a street brawl; except for the last two lines, which veer towards a more Linkin-Park-esque emo-ism. In any case, they're pretty unimaginative and forgettable. For true lyrical word-smithing, check out Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Mr Bungle, Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappa, or T Bone Burnett (among others).

Mendel's machines replicate in the night
In the black iron prison of St. Augustine's light
He's paying the bills and they're doing him proud
They can float their burnt offerings on assembler clouds

With omega point in the sight
The new Franklins fly their kites
And the post modern empire is ended tonight

From history
The flood of counterfeits released
The black cloud
Reductionism and the beast
Automatons gather all the pieces
So the world may be increased
In simulation jubilation
For the deceased...

Spray-on clothes and diamond jaws
Wrinkles smoothed by nanoclaws

With my machines I can dispatch you
From this world without a trace
Our nostalgia ghosts are ready to take your place

Content-shifting shopping malls
Gasoline trees and walk-through walls

None of Them Knew They Were Robots -- Mr Bungle

It's coming through a hole in the air,
from those nights in Tiananmen Square.
It's coming from the feel
that this ain't exactly real,
or it's real, but it ain't exactly there.
From the wars against disorder,
from the sirens night and day,
from the fires of the homeless,
from the ashes of the gay:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.
It's coming through a crack in the wall;
on a visionary flood of alcohol;
from the staggering account
of the Sermon on the Mount
which I don't pretend to understand at all.
It's coming from the silence
on the dock of the bay,
from the brave, the bold, the battered
heart of Chevrolet:
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.

Democracy by Leonard Cohen.
