What's the best way to set up your partitions for Ubuntu?
I was told
10g for /
2g for Swap
and the rest as /home
What do you do for partitioning, and why?

I have pretty much the same setup. Works for me and there is plenty of space left on the / partition.
I also have a 50 gig backup partition where I just store files being I am constantly installing a different release.

If I had to do it over again, I'd do 50gig for /, whatever for swap, and the rest for home..
I've got a 500gig hdd, and out of paranoia, I gave bothe ubuntu and vista about 90gigs, which leaves around 280 for home? Something like that- don't remember the details, but 98.2% (rough estimate) of my data is on an external 1tb drive anyway. All home is for is regular fun junk, random downloaded videos, pics, etc...oh, and music...
