Does anyone know where I can get pdfs of recent issues of 2600 Hacker Quarterly? There's a lot of older stuff available from the Hack Canada archives (http://www.hackcanada.com/ice3/2600/) and Rapidshare (http://rapidshare-search-engine.com/index-s_submit=Search&sformval=1&s_type=0&what=1&s=2600%2Bhacker%2Bquarterly&start=0.html), but nothing later than 2007.

Personally, I think it's a shame 2600 isn't available as an ezine. There are so few quality hacking-related ezines. The only ones I can think of are The Hackers Voice Digest (http://www.hackervoice.co.uk/articles/) and Phrack (http://phrack.org/) - and Phrack only comes out once a year nowadays! If you know of other decent ezines, please let us know.

Heya, this is not the sort of thing you post for on UF. This has been explained in the 2600 letters section over and over and over.

Nothing personal, but I am going to ask that this thread be closed. Read your back issues and you will see this addressed. Thanks.

i think it's fine to post here considering lot of users point to tools and talk of cmds to hack wireless networks and so forth. those threads are still open.

t0p- i agree, i miss it and have stacks of them that i used to go to my local bookstore for. ah, the good 'ol days. if this gets closed for whatever reason and you find an answer to your question, PM me.

Asking for downloads of copyrighted material is not appropriate. 2600 does not advertise. There is no invisible money flowing into their pockets to subsidize printing (as their recent printing woes indicate). Yes, there are repos of backissues. If you ever find a repo of current issues you should either be very quiet about it or notify 2600.

Edit: For anyone who is unfamiliar with 2600, they are not only a magazine, they serve as a legal barometer in the U.S. and have been sued for publishing completely legitimate information. This is not similar to asking for free downloads of mainstream publications as 2600 does not print advertisements for anyone but their own subscribers. Mainstream publications actually get bumps in ad rates from anything that suggests people are seeing the ads - 2600 gets nothing.

ah, yet the forum openly converses copyright file sharing/downloading, yet i haven't see you in those threads.

I haven't seen this. What are you referring to, specifically?

Can we have a mod step in here? Are we allowed to ask for and post links to download copyrighted material through channels other than the legally defined ones? Is UF currently hosting a bunch of threads on illegal filesharing?

You appear to have been suckered. None of the search links are to the summer 09 pdf - they are back issues from 2005..

Edit:http://store.2600.com/info.html. Everything they sell is listed in the sidebar at left. They explicitly allow readers to create clothing with the logos, though they ask for you to send them a piece for 'QA ;) ' purposes. They allow readers to use the 2600 name for local meetings provided they guarantee to hold them in public spaces that are open to all. They acknowledge the rights of their readers to maintain backup and electronic copies of 2600 materials. They do not sell electronic copies at this time.

As far as I can determine the materials in question are copyrighted and as such this thread will remain closed.
