My friend Nadean is interested in Ubuntu so i got her to burn a livecd and she got to bring up the installation prompt but she doesn't get an option to install it side by side with Vista 64bit.

Apparently, there is more then one Vista installation and at least three partitions already. I suppose the installer doesn't want to guess which of the partitions to shrink. Pretty impressive.

Why does your friend have Vista installed twice? At any rate, she'll need to free up some space for Ubuntu, or she can use manual install to overwrite one of the Vista partitions with Ubuntu.

Hmm, it could be the recovery partition. You just gave me an idea.
