I'm looking for a Media Player which is similar to Media Player Classic, but compatible with Ubuntu. Especially the function of increasing the volume to 200%. I realize that there is a slight decrease in quality when doing this, but I found that this was hardly noticeable in MPC and I often have difficulty with hearing some video's in my current media player (Totem). So I'm looking for a media player for Ubuntu which can do the same with a minimal amount of decreased quality. Does anybody know a media player like that? Or just a method to increase the volume of a video... I've tried earphones but it doesn't help much...

vlc does 200% for sure, but SMPlayer is a quality media player, and even has a MPClassic skin, not sure on volume though.

VLC also allows you to set max audio in the advanced settings.

Thank you. I have downloaded VLC and it even has the function to set audio to 200% as the sound-bar, like MPClassic.
