Hi fellas,
I tried to install v 9.04 from the cd i burnt and got this error
"Unknown keyword in config file"

I did use the winmd5 to check the integrity of the file downloaded and it came out correct.

Could you help me out with the installation

If you did an MD5SUM of the downloaded iso then you probably have a bad burn. Burn the iso as an image to CD-R at no more than 4x speed. if your burning software will not allow you choose 4x as burn speed see here (https://help.ubuntu.com/9.04/switching/installing-burning.html).

Then boot the live CD and choose "Check disk for defects".

I used a cd-rw...would that have been the cause for the error...
rewriting the cd at 4x now...

Theoretically you should be able to boot from a CD-RW, but some other people as well as myself have had trouble doing so.

MD5SUM (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM) your iso that you used to burn image to CD. If the hashes do not match exactly the iso is corrupted.

if that is the case download a new iso from a torrent- stay away from direct downloads.

if the hashes are ok you have a bad burn

I got the file downloaded from the torrent....the hash id's matched so i guess the problem is with the cd-rw...
I'll get hold of a cd-r and give it a try...
