media server for jaunty

i posted elsewhere and got no help...:(
so just like in windows where media player was also a media server for sending songs and video to the ps3 to play...i was wondering if there was a media server program like that for jaunty...i heard of media tomb but also heard it was highly unstable...any suggestions?

Rhythmbox has a built-in avahi share daemon. Run rhythmbox on two diffent machines and you can play media files from each one.

Mediatomb also works. I haven't had problems on a LAN but it's been spotty across the web and from Linux to Windows machines.
