View Full Version : [ubuntu] Laptop middle mouse button not recognized after upgrade

I recently did a fresh install of Jaunty, upgrading from Ibex, on my Acer Aspire 7720. Until the upgrade, I was able to use my middle mouse button to switch workspaces, scroll, and insert characters from the built in character palette. Now my middle button of my mouse is no longer functioning and does not seem to be recognized, although I'm rather new to Ubuntu so just may not know how to tell.

I scroll with my touch pad so am not worried about restoring that function and I can still paste characters, although I now have to press both the left and right buttons simultaneously to do so.

All in all, I'd really love to be able to restore the functionality of my middle mouse button and be able change workspaces with a quick click (being able to paste characters again would also be a major plus).

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated as it's driving me crazy. Thanks in advance!
