Installation Fails

Have Dld and burned 9.04 and tried to install on two pcs. it fails every time. I get an error telling me my HD or CD drive are bad. I know, infact, that they are both good on both pcs. any help would be very much appreciated. Im not really a newb but can't understand this one.

Sounds like bad burn, do a cd integrity check and also check the iso against the hash. See here for details: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto

It is unlikely that a properly running cd would fail to run on two different PCs.

Thanks that is what it was. i had checked the disk but no errors were found. but after burning a new disk everything works great.
