View Full Version : [ubuntu] Toshiba can not boot from USB Stick FAT formated

August 24th, 2009, 02:01 PM

I bought a new Toshiba NB100 the other day with Ubuntu on it, Wednesday last week.
After three hours of us the touch pad started to be funny and you can not use the mouse any more.

I try to reinstal the Ubuntu now. I downloaded the "Ubuntu remix edition" and but it on a new 2 GB USB Stick. When I start the computer I get the messege: Can not boot from Externel Drive because of unknown format.

I checked the format on the new USB Stick (drive, my computer) at properties in Windows XP. It shows me that it is a FAT format on the Stick (does not show me which FAT 16, FAT 32) .

Why can't the laptop read from my USB Stick?

Thank you for your help!
