Hi,

Whenever I want to drag a box around files in the File Browser in Gnome, instead it selects a file and thinks I want to move it.

How can I drag a box around multiple files to select them?

I'm not sure if you can do that, though I have never even thought about it, but you can use control+click to select separate files and shift+click to select all files between an already selected file and the click file, just like windows. I can't even remember if you can do what you want in windows as it's so long since I actually used it as an OS.

Don't start dragging over a file, but next to one.

(of course that would be hard in list view, but in that case Ctrl-click/shift-click is easier way to select multiple files..)

Not really :/ I always use list view and dragging a box is always easier than using ctrl and shift (the latter requires two hands).
