Hello. I downloaded a copy of Linux Mint Gloria Main, and burned it onto a CD at the lowest speed. I booted off the CD. When I started installing when it was around the formatting stage, I got the Errno 5 error.

The installer encountered an error copying files to the hard disk:

[Errno 5] Input/output error

This particular error is often due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive, or a faulty hard disk. It may help to clean the CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a lower speed, to clean the CD/DVD drive lens (cleaning kits are often available from electronics suppliers), to check whether the hard disk is old and in need of replacement, or to move the system to a cooler environment.

I tried washing the CD but same thing. I checked the MD5 that is fine. Later, I used my USB flash drive to install. I had the same thing. I thought this might be a download corruption. So I download the ISO again, and tried once more. The same error occurred. I searched this forum, but I didn't find a fix for myself. Please help me get past this, I'm really wanting to see Mint running on my laptop.

Thanks, Benny. :)
