Hi, could installing 9.10 aside 9.04 (current) possibly screw up anything in 9.04?

9 out of 10 no as long as you use different partitions it wont be a problem

I am currently running 9.10 as my sole OS but before that I duel booted with 9.04 and it works fine. To be safe you could install 9.04 after 9.10 so that its boot manager is used but you should not have any problems whatever you do.

if you have your /home on a separate partition dont use it for both 9.04 and 9.10, I tried it a while ago with 8.04 or so and had a lot of trouble with the gnome settings and that was just the start

Should work, although if you use KDE, backup your $HOME/.kde dir from 9.04, since 9.10 will make some changes you will not see in 9.04. Appears bits and pieces of KDE4.2 and .3 are not really compatible.

as long as you keep you're homedirs apart it should be a problem right? Or is that different with KDE? :s

If you have different homedirs, then you don't have that problem, correct.
