I live in the UK. In 1980 I did a computer studies O level (which was a fairly basic qualification you usually did an exam for around the age of 16, if you are not from the UK and didn't know)

At the time I was told that my school was one of the first to offer a computer studies O level but then I was also told all sorts of rubbish as well.

I just wondered if any one else did an O level in Computer studies earlier that 1980 and if so what year?

[We learnt how to program in basic and learnt about core store, paper tape and punched cards and magnetic tape storage]

I did the GCSEs at that age which I understand is the equivalent of O levels of old. The closest to comptuer studies that my school had, the IT course, from what I saw was a joke. All the GCSEs are incredibly easy in the first place, but when an exam ask you whether a font is bold or in italics, I can't take the course seriously at all.
